Places to See in Macau

Macau was a Portuguese territory for 400 years before being handed back to China in 1999.

Since then the gambling industry (always popular in Macau) has had huge investment from the Las Vegas casinos, with the result that turnover on gambling overtook Las Vegas some time ago.

There are still some beauty spots, though, particularly on Coloanne Island, the furthest from the development area.

There are even still some original Portuguese restaurants left in the main city area – wonderful sea-food cooked to Portuguese recipes.
